Horrible Harry Goes to the Moon

Ms. Kramer's reading group just finished reading Horrible Harry Goes to the Moon by Suzy Kline. Harry wants to be a spaceboy so he plays a trick on his class and says he is going to the moon. The class raises some money to buy a telescope and from there...you'll have to read the book yourself to find out! We all atleast kind of liked this book because it had alot of moon facts, adventure and it was funny!

Sincerely,
Ms. Kramer, Dakota, Ashley, Adam, Thomas and Cody

The Magic Tree House ~ Carnival at Candlelight

One of Ms. Love's students just finished reading the book Carnival at Candlelight. It is book #33 in the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne. This book is recommended to both kids and adults because it gives a lot of history about Venice, Italy. the book has beautiful, detailed pictures even though they are printed in black and white.
This book is a about a brother and sister named Jack and Annie. They wear cool costumes when they visit Venice in a very weird way. The night they visit is called Carnival at Candlelight where they ride neat boats and everyone wears costumes and masks. They run into trouble when they can't find out what time it is and from there Jack and Annie's adventure begins.
You should read this book for yourself to find out what happens next. You'll love this book, but you might want to start with the very first book in the series and work your way up. After all this is #33 in the Magic Tree House series!
The end with a very grand wave,
Cody

ivy + Bean and the Ghost That Had to Go

Some of our class just finished reading ivy + Bean and the Ghost that had to go. We think this book is good, but not awesome. That may be because 2/3 of our group are boys, and most of us think this book is written for girls.
The book is about Ivy and Bean, two friends who like gymnastics. One day during recess Ivy can't do a cartwheel so she makes up a story to change the subject. After that there are alot of surprising twists and turns, from toilets over-flowing in the girls bathroom, to cutting a piece of one of their sister's hair while she's asleep.
Some of us would recommend this book because we think its funny, good for girls and silly. Others of us wouldn't recommend it because we think it's a girls book, a waste of time and kind of grossed us out!!! Either way, we all made it through to the end with hardly a complaint, even the boys!

We would love to hear any comments you may have!
